Welcome to Barrier Island Aviation, LTD.
We proudly serve the entire Outer Banks and eastern North Carolina with a wide array of aviation services, including air charters, scenic air tours, flight instruction, aircraft rental and aircraft maintenance.

We are conveniently located in the central Outer Banks of North Carolina at the Dare County Regional Airport in Manteo, NC on historic Roanoke Island.
Our hours of operation are:
Monday-Sunday 8 am- 5 pm
Tours outside of normal operating hours can be arranged by appointment only.
A Dream come true - we thoroughly enjoyed our flight in the Bi-plane a few weeks ago. The Staff were efficient & professional. Our pilot obviously is very experienced & knowledgeable.
We even got to see Whale & dolphins off the OBX shore. As we had been to Kitty Hawk 2 days prior to that, the fly-past the Monument made it even more memorable.

July 29, 2009 - GREAT experience flying with Barrier Island Aviation in the biplane (open cockpit), wearing heavy leather head gear with ear phone to hear the pilot and heavy goggles over the eyes. Wonderful views. If you take photos, wear a wrist strap on the camera - it is windy up there. We saw a school of fish a mile long. The pilot, Andy Rosman, and his crew were welcoming, friendly and very professional. We felt confident and safe with them. The cost was $200 for the 20-minute flight - that's for two people. We sat in front of the pilot. Later we talked and we all agreed we were so glad to be in the open cockpit rather than the Cesa - it just was exciting.
